Promise Technology, Inc., announced the launch of a comprehensive line of SAS storage products, which includes the highly scalable VTrak® E-Class external rackmount storage systems and the SuperTrak® EX series PCIe RAID host bus adapters.

Dual Controller RAID 6 Storage Enclosures, PCIe RAID 6 controllers and SAS JBOD enclosures allows enterprise and SMB users to build highly scalable, inexpensive SAS/SATA storage solutions

Promise Technology, Inc., announced the launch of a comprehensive line of SAS storage products, which includes the highly scalable VTrak® E-Class external rackmount storage systems and the SuperTrak® EX series PCIe RAID host bus adapters.

Promise VTrackThe 2U twelve drive VTrak E-Class storage system supports SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) or SATA (Serial ATA) disk drives and active/active, failover/failback RAID 6 dual controllers. The initial product offering includes VTrak E310f with 4Gb fibre channel storage network connectivity while VTrak E310s supports 3Gb SAS direct attached storage connectivity. These systems are immediately available through Promise authorized distributor partners, worldwide.

Promise selected the Intel® IOP341 I/O Processor based on Intel XScale® Technology as the ideal high-performance, power-efficient platform for their new series of VTrak E-Class storage systems.  The Intel® IOP341 I/O Processor provides full-function RAID, including enhanced hardware acceleration for the RAID 6 feature set.

PCIe SAS RAID controllers are the newest addition to the Promise high performance SuperTrak EX series RAID HBAs. The SuperTrak EX series SAS RAID HBAs are powered by a highly integrated Intel® IOP348 I/O Processor. The initial product offerings will consist of configurations that include internal and/or external SAS connectivity and will be available in Q2 of 2007.

As storage requirements become more demanding, the need for increased flexibility and secure data access is paramount. The open architecture of the VTrak E-Class allows for the use of either SAS or SATA disk drives in the same system. RAID 6, active/active, failover/failback dual controller provides high availability of the data to the users. Using Promise's VTrak J300s SAS/SATA JBOD enclosures, users can now build highly scalable, highly available storage network which can grow as needed.

SuperTrak SAS RAID HBAs will allow users to either build internal SAS/SATA storage systems or provide connectivity to devices like the VTrak E-Class and J-Class. Both the VTrak RAID storage enclosures and the SuperTrak EX SAS RAID HBAs use the same award winning storage management software, Promise's WebPAM® Pro.  By using Promise's SuperTrak SAS RAID HBAs, VTrak E-Class RAID systems and VTrak J-Class JBOD systems users can take advantage of the highest level of interoperability between their internal and external storage by sourcing all of their components from the same vendor enabling management of data across the entire storage network to be simplified.  In addition, all Promise products undergo intensive compatibility testing with disk drives, HBAs, switches and all other complementary technology.

This complete and comprehensive SAS product line empowers value-added resellers (VARs), system integrators and SMB/enterprise end users by giving them the flexibility to configure storage solutions in accordance with varying cost and application considerations while still providing products with the highest level of availability, interoperability and features.

Promise sets a new standard in support by providing free 24 x 7 technical support and a user friendly advanced replacement program for VTrak E-Class RAID enclosures, VTrak JBOD enclosures, SuperTrak RAID HBAs.
