Toshiba, the industry pioneer in small form factor hard disk drives (HDDs), today introduced the next generation of its Stor.e Art USB 2.0 portable hard drives, not only featuring an attractive, stylish design but also complete system backup, password-protected encryption for added security and enhanced software features.
With a contemporary coloured, symetrical wave design, Toshiba’s Stor.e Art portable 2.5” hard drives will be available through major retailers and online outlets in the third quarter 2009 across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“With the latest introduction of the New Stor.e Art, we have extended our range of drives to become one of the most comprehensive line-ups on the market today, from the classic design of the Stor.e Alu and the minimalist elegance of the Stor.e Steel to the advanced security features, such as fingerprint recognition, of the Secured model,” says Marco Perino, General Manager PC Options, Peripherals and Service Division, Toshiba Europe GmbH. “For today’s style conscious consumer, security usually isn’t top of mind – design often takes priority. We always strive to design products that best suit our customers’ needs and as such have combined quality design with advanced security features in the new Stor.e Art.”
The Stor.e Art’s easy-to-use features take the complexity out of computer backup. Enhanced backup features combined with password-protected encryption create a true digital safety net that any consumer can use to protect against system failure and unauthorised access to their digital content. These new personal storage products now feature software specifically customised for the Windows environment. Toshiba is the first storage manufacturer to include NTI® BackupNow EZ™ software, which allows users to backup their complete system with a single click. NTI BackupNow EZ enables the user to restore the complete system, even if Windows is unable to start. In addition, the software will scan the users’ system and provide personalised recommendations on the best coverage for files, folders and the entire computer, giving consumers the peace of mind that all their files are protected.
Toshiba’s new generation of Stor.e Art personal storage products also include features for both first-time and advanced users. For first time users, intuitive graphics and controls make backing up digital data easier than ever, putting consumers in the driver’s seat for all of their storage needs. In addition, advanced users have the ability to customise their backup preferences, such as the frequency, level of security and types of files saved.
Available in 250GB, 320GB and 500GB capacities, Toshiba’s new Stor.e Art portable storage products provide consumers with storage for up to 142,000 digital photos, 131,000 digital music files, or 410 downloaded digital movies1. Powered via USB 2.0, Toshiba’s rugged, small and light personal storage products are built for portability. Weighing a mere 0.155 kg and the approximate size of a postcard, these portable hard drives can withstand daily wear and tear with special features such as an internal shock sensor, ramp-loading technology and anti-slip footpads to help anchor the drive in place.
